Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise vital funds for the new Children’s Unit at CUH. All the staff at CUH and the patients and children who attend our hospital would like to say a huge thank you for taking the time and effort to sell our tickets.
On an annual basis over 30,000 children are seen and treated at CUH, which operates as a specialist centre for children with a range of illnesses including Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, Epilepsy and other chronic illnesses. You may remember little Daniel from Cork city, who through the expertise of the medical professionals at CUH, has been given every chance of a brighter future. In order to help children like Daniel through their medical problems we help provide the most up-to-date equipment and access to the most up-to-date treatments. By playing your part, you have helped us invest in our hospital and its life-changing work.
This year, we are asking for your support of our work in the Neonatal Unit at CUMH. One in every ten children born at Cork University Maternity Hospital will require admission to the Neonatal unit. The care of the babies in the unit involves a team of medical and nursing staff, led by five consultant neonatologists who work tirelessly to provide the best possible care for the children and their families. Every day the patients who come through the doors of the hospital place their trust in us, children like little Odhran (pictured) who was born premature and received expert medical care in CUH’s Neonatal Unit, when diagnosed with viral meningitis in 2014.
In order to help patients and their families through their medical problems, we need to provide the most up to date equipment and services. We are aiming to raise €30,000 this year to support patient care in CUMH and purchase items such as breast pumps, warm cot mattresses and help upgrade a family room. Please help us make our Summer Raffle 2016 a success.
