Join the Recycling Heroes at Cork University Hospital!
Make a difference in the lives of patients while contributing to a greener future.
The inspiring efforts of CUH porters John Collins and John Keenan have already raised nearly €20,000 by recycling over 123,000 bottles and cans. Their hard work has funded a mobile high-flow oxygen therapy unit, essential for children battling serious respiratory conditions.
Now, we’re calling on staff from Cork University Hospital (CUH) and Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) to join this incredible initiative.
Why Volunteer?
- Transform Lives: Help fund life-saving equipment for seriously ill patients.
- Promote Sustainability: Be part of an award-worthy recycling effort under the Deposit Return Scheme.
- Build Community: Connect with colleagues while making a tangible impact.
What’s Involved?
Volunteers will assist in collecting used bottles and cans from hospital areas and preparing them for recycling. Even a small amount of your time can make a huge difference—currently, 12 bags a day are collected, but there’s potential for so much more with your help.
Together, We Can Do More!
With more hands, we could surpass €30,000 and fund even more essential equipment for CUH and CUMH. Let’s work together to extend the reach of this amazing effort.
