Cork University Hospital (CUH) Charity is organising its second Gala Fundraising Ball, which is set to take place on Friday October 7th, in the Maryborough Hotel and Spa. The event will aim to raise vital funds for essential equipment and continued patient care throughout the hospital.

Funds raised will go towards initiatives such as underwriting a new epilepsy monitoring machine for the Epilepsy Outpatient Unit and assist in the refurbishment and expansion of the Chemotherapy Day Unit, to enable up to 1,000 more oncology patients to be seen each year. It is hoped that the Neurology Unit and the Chemotherapy Day Unit will all benefit as a result of the funds raised from the evening.

Miriam Forde, Fundraising Manager at CUH Charity, spoke about the upcoming ball: “We are calling on Cork companies big and small to come behind this event and support us in our second year of the Gala Fundraising Ball. All funds raised which will go a long way towards providing upgraded facilities, services and equipment at CUH. We are looking forward to hosting a great night at the Maryborough, with a fantastic auction, a raffle extravaganza and live entertainment into the wee hours’.

A champagne reception will take place in the Orangery, where guests can begin their evening before enjoying a sumptuous four course meal in the newly refurbished ballroom. The Auction on the night will include a luxurious holiday package, courtesy of Shandon Travel, a signed Messi jersey and many more delightful items.
