FAQs

We intend to have 12 – 18 people take part in 2025

We will have people with medical training travelling with the team.

There will be a van with the group that will transport you and your bike if required.

On this trip, we are only offering shared accommodation. As we are stay in smaller towns, the accommodation options are limited, so by providing only shared rooms we can accommodate more people and raise as much as possible for CUH & CUMH.

All meals and snacks are provided, accommodation will be covered, too.

But if you wish to have a beer/wine or a coffee on the road, you might want to bring some pocket money. If your bike needs bigger repairs the costs will not be covered and lastly, if you wish to fly home at another date than the 27th, you will have to cover your own flight.

You will need travel insurance, which covers you for cycle touring and includes Medical and, equally important, will cover you for cancellation. You should also get a European Health Card, which is free.

This will be somewhat dependent on the group. We don’t look at the ride in terms of average speed as it is not a race or timed event. Obviously if you only have one group then the pace will default (to a large degree) to that of the slowest rider. It is 5 days of riding anyway, so it is often better to be a bit slower to manage the effort for multi day riding. As a general rule, you should be able to ride at 20kph on the flat.

If the group size is around 12, then there is only going to be one group. It is not a race, and we will have to accommodate some different abilities.

We would expect people to be riding a road bike. Sometimes people ride a (pedal assist) electric bike (still usually a road bike).
