Ballinruane Charity Barndance is back!

Dust off your cowboots to dance the night away at Ballinruane Charity Barndance! What starts as a derelict hay barn transforms into a mecca for cowboys and cowgirls. The usually quiet Ballinruane Woods comes alive for one night only in which you can experience the atmosphere, food & flutter at this unique event.

This years Ballinruane Charity Barndance is being held on August 26th 2017 in Kilmeedy, Co. Limerick in aid of the Garden Project – Oncology Ward, Cork University Hospital.

The concept of the Barndance as a fundraiser has captured the spirit of thousands of people over the past number of years. Year on year the Barndance grew in success, and in the four year period (2011 – ‘14) Barndance has raised an over whelming €79,408.65. The beneficiaries have been St. Gabriel’s School and Centre, Dooradoyle, Limerick, The Jasmine Ward, St. Ita’s Hospital, Newcastle West, Pieta House Limerick, St. John’s Ward, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and Dromcollogher Respite Centre, Dromcollagher Co. Limerick.

The dedicated Barndance committee decided to revive Barndance in 2017 to raise funds for a private seated garden area for patients, family and staff of the oncology ward in Cork University Hospital. The excellent oncology services at CUH are used by hundreds of people in the Munster region. The private garden will be located adjacent to the ward allowing patients direct independent access. It will offer patients and their families an opportunity to retreat from the busy hospital environment and find a little time to relax, get some fresh air and enjoy the uplifting benefits of a vibrant garden.

It is very exciting to have the barn come alive again for one last unique night. A great night guaranteed and all while supporting a very worthy cause. Tickets cost €50, incl 8 free drinks, live entertainment from “The Stars” followed by the The Glory Days Of Disco with Ex 2fm DJ legend Mickey Mac, Tally Ho’s pop up restaurant serving Bacon and Cabbage and BBQ, followed by Adare Farm Foods handmade ice cream. Anyone feeling adventurous can try their luck on the bucking bronco, other voices tent or try out our silent disco and so much more!!!
