Every year we are blown away by the generosity of companies and individuals who donate toys so children in CUH and new babies in CUMH get some gifts is they are in hospital at Christmas Time.

It’s very important we have the correct things for each and every child, so our team have developed a carefully considered list for this occasion.

The following are items which we know will be really well received:

  • Vouchers are a great option (Penneys, CeX, One4All, Smyths, Mr. Price, Amazon, etc) are most welcome – as they can be used year-round and ensure the Play Department is always stocked (especially for the teenagers on the ward).

  • Toys have to be new.

  • Toys should be unwrapped and in original packaging.

  • Toys should be Safe and suitable for a hospital environment.

  • Remember children are in Puffin Ward, Ladybird Ward, Paediatric Emergency Department, Outpatients & CUMH – so we care for children from 0-16 across all these areas – please consider all ages

  • Selection boxes are also welcomed and can be used throughout December.

  • Activity Items: Lego, Activity Packs, art sets, Play Doh, kinetic sand, magnatiles, puzzles, colouring materials etc…

  • Sensory Items: Popits, slime, fidget toys, Sensory Lights (Baby Light projectors or lava Lamps), Musical Toys, etc.

  • For babies: Baby/Developmental toys (children aged 0-1 year), teethers, rattles, Baby/Sensory Books

  • Comfort items: Snoodies, fluffy socks, character blankets, fancy-dress costumes – some of these are also great for Teens on the ward!

  • Always popular items: Barbie, unicorns, superheroes, dolls.

Thank you for your continued generosity! We truly appreciate you!

And remember, we have children in on their birthdays, communions or other special times of the year, so toy drives are welcomed all year round.
