Meet the team – Michael Nason, CEO CUH Charity
Name: Michael Nason
Role: CEO
What is your favourite part about your job?
Learning about how to be healthier and in particular the simple changes we can all make that would make such a difference
What is your favourite thing to do, when you’re not working?
Walk my dog (see photo – Max is the 5th boxer in my life and the only person who really listens to me). Animals are so therapeutic we solve the problems of the world when we walk. I also like to play soccer with friends.
Who was your childhood hero when you were little?
I still am in the process of growing up – so my hero is Roger Federer the tennis star – such a great player and gracious. I told my wife one of my life ambitions was to walk out as a ball person on Wimbledon Centre Court holding his hand – I guess I am a bit too old for that now! – but one has to dream
What did you wish to become when you grew up?
– still wishing
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
American hard gums
If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
Roger Federer, Warren Buffet, Elon Musk – how fascinating would that be. If I could bring a fourth it would be whoever is best in the world at figuring out how we live longer – these guys could all give us a longer and healthier time on this planet which would be cool – we all know time is the most precious resource.
What other country besides your current one would you like to live in?
Italy – I love the small towns and villages you see when you follow cycling on TV – I plan to find time to visit many of them in the coming years.
What is one thing you wish people knew about your job?
I hope people know that the Charity works in partnership with the healthcare workers of the hospital to make a difference for everyone. I am so impressed by the generous efforts of many, in particular, those who have lost someone but organise an event to raise funds to say thank you to those who cared for their loved ones – that’s special.
