Our fundraising campaign for a ground-breaking cancer sequencing machine has received phenomenal support since it’s launch on the 8th May with the support of our Ambassador, Ireland and Munster rugby star Peter O’ Mahony. We would like to express our immense gratitude to everyone who has donated so far for this game-changing machine which will personalise treatment for cancer patients.Thank you to everyone who has taken on a challenge and nominated family and friends to take part and make a donation.
It’s wonderful to see people run, walk, cycle, take on a triathlon, do a splash challenge, paint..all showing such great support. Our thanks to the Oncology doctors who climbed the equivalent of Mount Everest on Patrick’s Hill and to the Pathology Department who organised the 650km Ring of Munster Challenge and to all CUH staff and the public who supported them.
This campaign is being supported by the Fenton family who lost their beautiful daughter and sister to cancer in 2017 and set up the Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund in her memory, raising €75,000 for this critical technology to date. Along with the €75,000 from the Fenton family, the charity have existing funds of €100,000 including in excess of €60,000 from Mick McCourt.
To support this urgent fundraising campaign and help us raise the additional €275,000 needed please donate at www.idonate.ie/CUHCCancerCampaign. Alternatively, if you have a fundraising idea or wish to make a private donation, call 021 4234529 or email [email protected].
As well as encouraging the public to donate to the fundraising page Peter O’Mahony is also supporting a social media campaign (#PullTogetherCUHC) for people to set themselves and their family and friends a fun challenge and to donate to the campaign.
Set yourself a challenge and donate what you can. Nominate family and friends to take part too by using #PullTogetherCUHC and tag @CorkUniversityHospital Charity on Facebook, @CUHCharity on Twitter and @cuh.charity on Instagram and let’s all pull together against cancer.
Thank you
