The Children’s Department provide care for children from all over Munster with more than 95% of children attending CUH receiving all of their treatment here without requiring referral to the Dublin Children’s Hospitals. Your support on the night will enable the vital delivery of the following in the short term which are urgent requirements:
- EEG Machine – used to diagnose seizures and epilepsy (600 children with epilepsy attend the Paediatric Neurology Service at CUH.)
- ECHO Machine – used to diagnose congenital heart disease in children
- Refurbishment of the existing Children’s Wards
- Refurbishment of the Paediatric Emergency Department – it is vital that we have excellent facilities at this critical and busy point of entry to the hospital
