The Movie Junction Drive-In Cinema, Carrigtwohill, will hold a screening of the much anticipated “Penguins of Madagascar” and a sing-along version of the hit film “Frozen” in aid of the Cork University Hospital (CUH) Children’s Unit on Saturday, 6th of December. The “Frozen” sing-along will commence at 5.30pm on Screen 2 and “Penguins of Madagascar” will begin at 6.30pm on Screen 1.
The family friendly night aims to raise awareness and vital funds for the CUH Charity’s Children’s Unit appeal. Funds will go towards bathing, baby changing, breastfeeding and isolation facilities, a high-dependency unit, a counselling room, palliative care facilities, en-suite rooms, and a sensory area for children with special needs. Tickets cost €25 with €15 of every ticket going directly to the Charity.
To show further support for the hospital and the children’s unit people are being asked to wear a toy stethoscope on the evening and to donate a new DVD to the Children’s Unit.
Commenting on the Fundraiser, Bernie O’Halloran, Fundraising Co-ordinator, CUH Charity said: “We would like to thank all at the Movie Junction in Carrigtwohill for this fundraiser. We’re very appreciative of all of the support the public have given to our Children’s appeal. We know this will be a great family night out, one which both kids and parents will certainly enjoy.”
Prior to the beginning of the films there will be an opportunity to speak with members of CUH Charity as well as view CUH Charity’s latest videos and photos on screen. It’s recommended people who do wish to speak to the charity arrive thirty minutes before the start of the evening.
Tickets for the event can be purchased from the Movie Junction website.
